Engineering Details

Six key engineering systems that define PF200 performance and reliability.

High-Capacity Nitrogen Accumulator

Large-volume nitrogen accumulator handles the extreme pressure spikes generated at 8,000 J impact energy, protecting the excavator's high-flow hydraulic system and extending pump life.

Auto-Lube Greasing System

Integrated auto-lube port with high-volume grease capacity. Correct lubrication at 2-hour intervals extends the 170 mm chisel bush life to 900+ operating hours under normal conditions.

Heavy-Duty Tie-Rod Construction

Oversized high-tensile steel tie rods rated for 8,000 J repeated impact loads. Pre-tensioned assembly eliminates joint movement under the extreme forces generated by the PF200.

Hardox Front Head

Front head manufactured from Hardox 500 wear plate — the hardest commercially available steel for this application. Replaceable chisel bush rated for 900+ hours before replacement.

Idle-Blow Protection

High-speed pressure-sensing idle-blow cut-off is critical at 8,000 J — a single blank fire at full energy can cause catastrophic internal damage. The PF200 system responds within 0.2 seconds.

Integrated Dust Protection System

Positive-pressure dust exclusion system prevents fine rock dust from entering the chisel bush area during high-intensity quarry and mining operations, extending service intervals significantly.

Excavator Compatibility

Verified compatible excavator models in the 20–40 tonne class. Always confirm auxiliary flow and pressure before ordering.

Application Gallery

Six primary application sectors where the PF200 delivers proven performance.

⛏️

Large-Scale Quarrying

Primary bench breaking and boulder reduction at granite, basalt and hard limestone quarries. Maximum productivity per shift on the hardest materials.

🪨

Hard Rock Excavation

Primary rock excavation for major infrastructure — tunnels, deep foundations, dam construction and large-scale earthworks in hard rock terrain.

🏗️

Major Demolition

Demolition of large reinforced concrete structures — industrial buildings, bridges, retaining walls and port infrastructure.

🔩

Mining Secondary Breaking

High-throughput secondary breaking of oversized ore and waste rock at open-cut and surface mining operations.

🛣️

Heavy Road Construction

Rock cutting for major highway and motorway construction in mountainous terrain — deep cuts, rock faces and hard sub-base preparation.

🌊

Port & Marine Works

Underwater rock breaking for harbour deepening, jetty construction and marine infrastructure in challenging submerged conditions.

Installation Guide

Six-step commissioning procedure for the PANDA FORCE PF200.

01

Verify Hydraulic Compatibility

Confirm excavator auxiliary flow (130–200 L/min) and working pressure (160–200 bar). Check back pressure does not exceed 30 bar at the return port. High-flow auxiliary circuit is mandatory.

02

Mount the Heavy-Duty Bracket

Fit the correct heavy-duty S-type or pin-on bracket to the excavator arm. Use a crane or lifting equipment — the PF200 bracket assembly weighs 180 kg. Torque all mounting pins to specification.

03

Connect Hydraulic Hoses

Connect pressure and return hoses using 1.25-inch BSP or SAE O-ring fittings. Use hydraulic hose rated for 350 bar working pressure minimum. Purge air from hoses before pressurising.

04

Grease the Chisel

Apply NLGI Grade 2 lithium-complex grease to the 170 mm chisel shank. Initial greasing: 15 pumps. Ongoing: 3 pumps every 2 operating hours. Auto-lube system strongly recommended.

05

Set Hydraulic Flow

Set excavator auxiliary flow to 160 L/min and pressure to 180 bar for initial commissioning. Adjust within the specified range. Do not exceed 200 L/min or 200 bar under any circumstances.

06

Functional Test

Test at low pressure (120 bar) for 10 minutes. Check all connections for leaks, verify correct impact rate and listen for abnormal noise. Increase to working pressure in stages once satisfied.

Customer Case Studies

Verified field results from PF200 deployments across three continents.

🇨🇱
Chile
Codelco — Copper Mine Secondary Breaking
Excavator: Komatsu PC360
Challenge: Secondary breaking of porphyry copper ore boulders (1–8 m³) blocking the primary crusher at the Chuquicamata open-cut mine. Required 24/7 operation at 2,800 m altitude in extreme temperature swings.
PF200 processed 520 tonnes of oversize per shift — 35% more than the previous competitor breaker. High-altitude hydraulic performance unaffected. Zero unplanned downtime in the first 3 months.
Duration: 3 months

Norway
Skanska — Road Tunnel Excavation
Excavator: Volvo EC350
Challenge: Primary rock excavation through hard gneiss for a 2.4 km road tunnel near Bergen. Drill-and-blast restricted due to proximity to existing infrastructure. Mechanical breaking only.
PF200 achieved 22 m³/hour gneiss fragmentation — sufficient to maintain the tunnel advance rate without blasting. Project completed on schedule. Hardox front head showed minimal wear after 400 hours.
Duration: 6 months

Australia
CIMIC Group — Port Deepening
Excavator: CAT 336
Challenge: Underwater rock breaking to deepen a Western Australian port channel from 12 m to 16 m depth. Continuous 10-hour shifts in salt water with tidal current up to 2.5 knots.
PF200 with deep-water seal kit operated continuously for 14 weeks submerged. Zero seal failures. Channel deepened 4 m over 1.8 km. Integrated dust protection system prevented salt ingress into chisel bush.
Duration: 14 weeks
