Engineering Details

Six key engineering systems that define PF121 performance and reliability.

Nitrogen Gas Accumulator

Sealed nitrogen chamber absorbs hydraulic pressure spikes, reducing stress on the excavator hydraulic system and extending pump life by up to 30%.

Auto-Lube Greasing Port

Single-point greasing port with auto-lube compatibility. Correct lubrication interval extends chisel bush life to 800+ operating hours.

Tie-Rod Construction

High-tensile steel tie rods clamp the cylinder, front head and back head into a single rigid assembly — no welded joints in the stress path.

Wear-Resistant Front Head

Front head cast from high-chromium alloy steel, hardness HRC 52–56. Replaceable chisel bush eliminates the need to replace the entire front head.

Idle-Blow Protection

Automatic idle-blow cut-off stops the piston when the chisel loses contact with the material, preventing blank firing that damages the internal cylinder.

Dust & Water Sealing

IP67-rated dust and water seals on all hydraulic ports. Suitable for underwater operation to 10 m depth with optional deep-water seal kit.

Excavator Compatibility

Verified compatible excavator models in the 10–20 tonne class. Always confirm auxiliary flow and pressure before ordering.

Application Gallery

Six primary application sectors where the PF121 delivers proven performance.

🪨

Hard Rock Excavation

Primary breaking of granite, basalt and limestone in road construction, quarrying and foundation work.

🏗️

Concrete Demolition

Reinforced concrete structures, bridge decks, retaining walls and industrial floor slabs.

🛣️

Road Construction

Trench cutting through rock, pavement breaking and sub-base preparation for highway projects.

⛏️

Mining & Quarrying

Secondary breaking of oversized boulders, bench preparation and ore fragmentation.

🏙️

Urban Demolition

Selective demolition in confined urban sites where noise and vibration control are critical.

🌊

Underwater Breaking

Submerged rock and concrete breaking for harbour, dam and waterway infrastructure projects.

Installation Guide

Six-step commissioning procedure for the PANDA FORCE PF121.

01

Verify Hydraulic Compatibility

Confirm excavator auxiliary flow (80–130 L/min) and working pressure (150–180 bar). Check back pressure does not exceed 25 bar at the return port.

02

Mount the Bracket

Fit the correct S-type or pin-on bracket to the excavator arm. Torque all mounting pins to manufacturer specification. Fit lock pins and safety clips.

03

Connect Hydraulic Hoses

Connect pressure and return hoses to the breaker ports. Use the correct BSP or SAE O-ring fittings. Purge air from hoses before pressurising.

04

Grease the Chisel

Apply NLGI Grade 2 lithium-complex grease to the chisel shank. Initial greasing: 10 pumps. Ongoing: 2 pumps every 2 operating hours.

05

Set Hydraulic Flow

Set excavator auxiliary flow to 100 L/min and pressure to 160 bar for initial commissioning. Adjust within the specified range for optimal performance.

06

Functional Test

Test at low pressure (100 bar) for 5 minutes. Check for leaks, abnormal noise and correct impact rate. Increase to working pressure once satisfied.

Customer Case Studies

Verified field results from PF121 deployments across three continents.

🇰🇷
South Korea
Daewoo E&C — Highway Expansion Project
Excavator: Doosan DX180
Challenge: Hard granite bedrock at 2–4 m depth across a 12 km highway widening corridor. Previous contractor had used a smaller breaker with poor productivity.
PF121 achieved 18 m³/hour granite fragmentation — 2.4× the productivity of the previous 700 kg class breaker. Project completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule.
Duration: 14 weeks
🇩🇪
Germany
Züblin AG — Urban Tunnel Approach
Excavator: Liebherr R920
Challenge: Selective demolition of a 1960s reinforced concrete retaining wall in a dense urban environment. Strict noise limits (85 dB at site boundary) and vibration constraints.
PF121 operated within noise limits using the low-impact-rate setting (400 bpm). Zero structural damage to adjacent buildings. Wall removed in 8 working days.
Duration: 8 days
🇦🇺
Australia
Thiess — Iron Ore Mine Secondary Breaking
Excavator: Komatsu PC200
Challenge: Oversized boulders (0.5–2 m³) blocking primary crusher feed at a Pilbara iron ore operation. Required 24/7 operation in extreme heat (up to 48°C ambient).
PF121 processed 340 tonnes of oversize per shift. Idle-blow protection and high-temperature seals maintained zero unplanned downtime over a 6-month trial period.
Duration: 6 months
